While March contained a slew of different types of movies, April will bring less but better looking dishes to the table. Here is what you need to catch:
A Quiet Place
Last year was a great year for horror films with movies such as Get Out and IT and it looks like A Quiet Place might continue the trend for this year. Achieving a remarkable 100% on rotten tomatoes upon its release, the film features husband and wife, both on and off screen, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt with John also acting as the director. The story takes place in a world where a family must try to live in complete silence to prevent being hunted by mysterious creatures. With barely any dialogue, the film is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat.
In recent years, it has become clear that John Cena is trying to break into the acting world the same way Dwayne Johnson did. So far he hasn’t had a lot of groundbreaking roles but it looks like he might have finally found his big break. While previously starring in only minor roles, he’ll now play one of the main trios of parents in the comedy who must stop each of their daughter from losing their virginity. It surprisingly has a pretty decent score on both Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, making it one to catch if you’re looking for a laugh.
Rosamund Pike has starred in the critical flop 7 Days in Entebbe earlier this year and perhaps Beirut is what will probably redeem her. Starring alongside John Hamm from Mad Men, the film will focus on Hamm’s character who tries to save a fellow colleague from a group who could possibly be the reason behind the death of Hamm’s family. The trailer has received criticism for portraying the Arabs as dangerous people but nonetheless, it still looks like a gripping thriller to catch.
Last year, Dwayne Johnson was one of the highest grossing actors of the year. Looks like the human juggernaut is not stopping anytime soon. This family action film will clearly feature tons of actions and with the fact that we’ll see a few large dangerous animals grown to a gigantic size fight one another with The Rock stuck in the middle of it, there’s no other reason needed if you’re looking for a fun action ride.
Avengers: Infinity War
Seriously at this rate, this film doesn’t even need an introduction. Without a doubt, the biggest film releasing this year and perhaps even the decade, Infinity War will be the biggest culmination of all the previous Marvel films starting with Iron Man exactly 10 years ago. Directed by the Russo brothers who also directed Civil war, fans will finally see the mad titan Thanos on the big screen, ready to take out some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and they have already confirmed that not all of them will make it…
And there you have it folks. Make sure you fill your pockets with enough cash and have a wonderful April!
